Vintage Sari, A Perfect Summer Piece

June 7, 2008
by

Originally from Switzerland, our newest designer Tanja Suhm spent several years traveling before settling here in Portland in 2006.  Experiencing the world in this way has clearly influenced Tanja’s style, and is particularly evident in the Hazeldrops sari wrap-skirts we’re all eyeing at Olio.

These amazing skirts are made from reclaimed saris that Tanja has sourced directly from India. The patterned skirts (many that are silk) are beautiful and best of all, can be worn in so many different ways!  Tanja has cultivated a working relationship with two brothers who purchase the sari’s from local women, putting resources back into the community.

We are also thrilled that Hazeldrops donates 10% of their profits to organizations that focus on green technology and global awareness.  Check out Tanja’s other sustainable clothing line, Earthmoda which can also be found at Olio United.

Click here to shop for a vintage sari-skirt.  Short, $50.  Long, $55.
