Celebrating a Planet

I’m not much of a holiday person. Take Valentine’s, for example. My husband and I rarely go out to dinner on Valentine’s Day. We don’t even exchange birthday gifts. The thing is, we love going out to dinner, and we actually do give gifts to each other throughout the year, just not when they are expected.

In the same way, Earth Day is just like any other day around here for us at Olio. We’ll fill our recycling bin. We’ll monitor the thermostat. We’ll use biodegradable corn drinking cups if visitors are thirsty. We’ll print reports on recycled printing paper. We’ll send out web orders in reused bags and boxes.

It’s not easy being greener, but it’s a choice we make every day . . . it’s a choice that we all make every day, not just on Earth Day. One little effort at a time will hopefully add up to one big change in time.

On behalf of the good earth, thanks for all you do.

    Dear Cathy & Korinne,
I truly enjoyed the experience of your Boutique & the Tom’s Shoes
I purchased! And, after speaking with you, discovered we share
    similar ethics on sustainability:)
I also write a “Green Plant Q&A” for the Oregon Association of Nurseries & wanted to share the News with you:)…**I was the Abstract Artist that was pelted with hail upon leaving your store…But, the experience was well worth it:)..I will be back and have been sharing your store with others…
Please check out http://www.oan.org and send any plant questions to me & I will give you a prompt reply….
